3 – 16 FEBRUARY, 2020
It’s that time of year again church, where we set aside two weeks and commit the year ahead to the Lord with prayer and fasting (3-16 February). We have much to believe God for as a church and our prayer is that you personally seek the Lord as well for His eternal purposes and blessing on the year ahead.
2 Chronicles 7:14-15 (NLT) says – “Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.”
Our city of Bendigo, the state of Victoria and our nation need the prayer of God’s people to indeed bring healing and restoration across many levels. We, as the church, have the privilege to set aside time and seek the Lord for our families, our church, this city and beyond.
I love that Jesus brought to our attention the power of prayer and fasting in Matthew 17:20-21 (NKJV) – “So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Here Jesus is speaking to the disciples about the power required to overcome certain opposition from the devil, and prayer and fasting is key. We should pray for those across our nation dealing with loss because of the bush fires that have been so destructive. Let’s take time to uphold them in prayer and believe for God to bring His presence into the midst of such a challenging situation.
As a church we are believing to win more people to the love of God this year; every weekend seeing five people making decisions for Christ. We are expanding our facilities and need prayer to see the provision of God allow us to build what believe He has called us to build. We are desiring to see a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit on all we do and beginning a revival fire in Bendigo. Let’s pray and believe for healing, provision, the breakthrough of blessing in families and on homes and in all we do to serve God.
Bless you church, as you join with us and separate some time early in the year to put God first and commit 2020 to Him.
